Description
Overview :
Until the middle of the nineteenth century this was known as Twissells Mill after the family who had owned it since at least 1581. Mainly worked as a corn mill, it was equipped as a cloth mill in 1821. This building gives an idea of how small the early mills were.
Extract from Grade 2 Listing description :
Formerly mill house, now detached house. Mid-late C17; c1960 enlargement. Random rubble limestone; ashlar and rubble chimneys; stone slate roof. Two-storey with attic. Later range to east forms L-plan.
Picturesque position alongside mill pond.
